WWE served its audience with its high paced action even during the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation was challenging for everyone involved. As Edge reveals, however, entertainers also had their fair share of struggles to deal with as well. In an interview, Adam Copeland revealed the struggles of being in the ring during the pandemic.
This was especially true thanks to a core aspect of the wrestling world that was stripped away due to the pandemic.

Speaking to the hosts of the Brotherly Love Podcast, Copeland revealed that a major factor was missing when it came to performing during the pandemic. “When you get to the matches, that sucked. With no audience, everything hurt so much more,” he said.
An often underestimated factor in wrestling is just how much adrenaline figures into pushing stars toward performing past their breaking points. “I’m coming back from a torn tricep. I hadn’t been in a ring in seven months. I’m coming back. They want me to go from one and win the Royal Rumble, which means 60 minutes in the ring. So that means I’m in there to take everybody’s moves,” he said.
This was especially true as the Hall of Famer took on a surprise opponent nearly a hundred pounds heavier than him during the Rumble.
Edge reveals hilarious incident during his Royal Rumble win
As Edge took on Kane during the 2021 Royal Rumble, the former revealed yet another shocking fact as he got chokeslammed by the latter. Thanks to Covid-19 precautions, the Rumble took place behind closed doors.
With no live audience, other things that usually go under the radar jumped out at Copeland. Including things like what the backstage crew was up to.

“I just remember hitting and going ‘that was horrible, I don’t wanna get up, this hurts too bad’ and then I can hear some of our crew, like, laughing and I heard a fart,” he said. He described the experience as ‘deflating.’
