There is no denying the fact that John Cena is a master of cutting promos in WWE. He comes to the rings and decimates his rivals with nothing but words. On the February 27, 2012 episode of WWE Raw, he cut a promo with his famous rival, Dwayne Johnson. Both stars took several digs at each other.
But Cena took it too far with one comment. He mocked Johnson for writing his promo notes on his wrists. This situation led to the building of some real-life tension between the two stars. Fortunately, at present, both stars are on good terms. And it is because ‘The Champ’ realized his mistake and courageously asked Johnson to forgive him.

While speaking to Notsam Wrestling in May, Cena admitted he made a big mistake by making fun of Johnson’s promo skills eleven years ago on Raw. He added he did it to entice the audience. Though his motive was right, his method of approach was wrong. Therefore, he felt sorry for his actions.
He said, “I did it the wrong way. We should’ve collaborated. We should’ve talked in hindsight. I should’ve asked you [Johnson] what’s the best way to make us equals? Instead, I did it myself, and in turn, it created a huge space between us and that was my fault.”
The 16-time world champion rectify his mistake and asked for Johnson’s forgiveness. ‘The Rock’, being a humble and generous star, put the past beside him and buried the hatchet. “He couldn’t have been more gracious. I know the build wasn’t easy on him. He has the world in the palm of his hand, ” Cena added.

In the interview, Cena revealed that before saying sorry to Johnson, he went to ask for his mother, Ata Johnson’s forgiveness. He explained to her that his intentions were not to belittle Johnson in any way. He only wanted to pique the audience’s interest and sell more tickets. But he realizes that the way he did was very wrong.
