When it comes to the final matches of a beloved star in pro wrestling, it’s always a big deal. However, John Cena is built differently. Talking to People Magazine, he said, “I just want to do what’s best for the company.” On multiple occasions, Cena has credited the WWE for his fame and fortune. Moreover, backstage reports have suggested Cena never turned down anything Vince McMahon has asked from him.

“If it’s a big final match or if it’s just a final match, or however I can be integrated into the product to let everyone know that this chapter is over,” John Cena continued. This goes to show how much Cena respects and values the WWE. He doesn’t care if it’s a big farewell PLE match or something on RAW or SmackDown as long as it works in the flow of the promotion.

Cena has dedicated his life to the WWE. Had it not been for Hollywood and his career in movies, he would’ve still be here. Even today, when he makes a return, he always tries to put over the next generation of stars. When he teamed up with LA Knight against The Bloodline or when he lost to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel.

Why John Cena doesn’t want the big farewell match

“Most athletes’ careers last three-to-five years. We’re talking 20 years here for me,” Cena said. In his 20 years as part of the WWE, Cena has seen every match possible with the highs and lows. There is nothing left for Cena to do so he doesn’t want a grand PLE final match.
