Vince McMahon breathes wrestling. After all, it was his understanding and business acumen that has made WWE the juggernaut it is today. His relentless attitude and commitment to work propelled WWE to enormous success. However, this also alienated some people as it rubbed them the wrong way. Even the people closest to McMahon found themselves being at odds with the boss over his demands and mentality. One among them is McMahon’s once-go-to star, Hulk Hogan.

Despite being the major crowd puller and propelling the product to soaring heights, Hogan wasn’t relieved of his duties by McMahon in his off time. Recently, the legendary wrestler revealed why he hated traveling with his former boss during his heyday.

If one goes by WWE eras, The Immortal One ruled the Golden Era, which stretched from 1982-92. This was also the time during which he enjoyed the 1474-day run as the WWE Champion. Knowing Vince McMahon’s bookings, he really thought highly of Hogan to give him such an extended reign. Yet, the wrestler detested one of McMahon’s routines.

Speaking as a guest on the Full Send Podcast recently, Hogan said he didn’t like traveling with McMahon. The 6-time WWE World Champion recalled his days of working with McMahon and said the latter wouldn’t keep his word. Hogan said McMahon would offer him a ride on his private jet and instead of dropping him in Connecticut, take him to Japan and other places.

“I called it the slave ship, because once you get on there, he wouldn’t let you go home,” he said. But a relentless McMahon wouldn’t pay heed. Tired of it all, Hogan decided to sell his property in Connecticut, to “get away from working so much”. A few days ago, The Hulkster revealed his working relationship with McMahon.

He would come banging at Hogan’s door at three in the morning. “I would go to Monday Night Raw and we would have a post-production meeting at 1. Then, I’d sneak to my hotel, and he would be beating at my door at 2.30. ‘Come on monster, let’s workout.’,” Hogan said on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
