Controversial superstar CM Punk was booted from AEW in September after a splendid performance at the AEW ALL In PPV. Even before the PLE at Wembley Stadium, Punk was out of action for months due to injury. However, despite his prolonged absence and controversies, he has still managed to overshadow Roman Reigns.

CM Punk posted a story on his Instagram account on November 5th of a picture of merchandise sales of the top 10 WWE and AEW superstars. The list shows data where Punk has surpassed Reigns narrowly.

The former WWE and AEW champion thanked his fans and acknowledged his fellow mates from AEW. Punk wrote, “Meeting with Phil Zacko and Jack Tunney at the China club, brother.” In his other note, he wrote, “Thank you Fanhausens for keeping Danhausen on this top ten list when I have been off of TV for nearly 8 months. – Love that Danhausen.”

Punk was thanking the fans of his former AEW colleague, Danhausen, for keeping him in the top 10. One of the notable things in CM Punk’s Instagram story was that Punk ranked higher than Roman Reigns on the overall reverse rank value.

Punk had 236 items in the top 10 daily list with an overall 32,669 points as per the reverse rank value system and ranked second on the list only behind AEW. On the other hand, Roman Reigns had 210 items in the top 10 daily list with 32,218 value points and ranked 3rd behind Cody Rhodes and Stone Cold, respectively. In Reigns’ defense, we can say that the list considered apparel only for WWE merchandise.

Reverse rank value refers to the value system in which the top-ranked player receives the highest points. The value system in merchandise sales often considers the top 50 items and provides 50 points to the top-ranked item. Meanwhile, the #50 ranked item receives 1 point.
