Despite Being a Deserving Candidate, WWE Legend Believes the World Title Should “Not Go to Cody Rhodes” Amidst Him Gaining Huge “Credentials” From Brock Lesnar Rivalry

Cody Rhodes missed his shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39 in April. Almost half of the WWE world anticipated his win, given how the promotion portrayed his story from the start. Wrestling legend Mick Foley was also on Cody’s side. He believes it was pivotal for the American Nightmare to win the belt.

However, things turned upside down with Cody involved in a new rivalry, with Brock Lesnar following his major defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns. Now, after two back-to-back high-voltage matches with the Beast Incarnate with each winning one, they are heading to the third one, potentially scheduled for the upcoming SummerSlam.

Mick Foley thinks Cody Rhodes gains credibility for his ongoing feud with Brock Lesnar

Amidst this current scenario, it seems like Foley changed his mind regarding Cody’s win. Analyzing every situation and angle, the veteran thinks it won’t be good for Cody to win the title right away. Because the adversity and accomplishments he earns will prove to be essential in his quest to clinch a world title.

On the recent episode of Foley in Pod, Mick noted, ”I think it’s important that the title not go to Cody because I think what Cody’s going through in this series of Brock Lesnar is giving him the you know the credentials so that when he does and I think there will definitely be a moment where he becomes that guy everyone will feel like he deserves it”

According to the former WWE star The Blue Meanie, the recent setbacks actually set the pitch for Rhodes to attain champion status in the future. His bloodied feud with Lesnar brushed his power and skill even more. It will eventually help him to achieve his aim in the long run.

However, Meanie added another blasting perspective that says Lesnar does all these purposely for using Cody as a tool against Roman Reigns. His ultimate aim is to cost Roman the Undefeated Universal WWE Championship belt via Cody Rhodes.
