Until a couple of weeks ago, the two main men’s title matches for WrestleMania 40 seemed to have been predetermined. Roman Reigns would likely face Cody Rhodes (winner of the Royal Rumble) for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Seth Rollins against CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

However, destiny had ideas as plans changed due to CM Punk tearing his tricep during the Royal Rumble PLE. Moreover, the Visionary also suffered a medial collateral ligament injury which has put his participation in WrestleMania 40 in doubt. However, he recently provided an update, which surely would please his fans.

During a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Seth Rollins gave an update on his health status. Moreover, he expressed his determination to return to the ring in time for WrestleMania 40 despite the injury. Rollins remains optimistic about his recovery, mentioning that rehab is progressing well and confessing that he is slowly feeling better. He said, “Knee’s good man, it feels really good. Uhm I tore my MCL three weeks ago, meniscus injury in there as well, but I feel really good. I really kind of turned a corner this week with the rehab. I’m feeling really good. I think another three or four weeks or so I’m not exactly sure, but I’ll definitely be back before WrestleMania.”

Although the Visionary still faces discomfort due to the damage to the medial collateral ligament, he emphasized in an earlier interview that a successful rehabilitation would allow him to avoid surgery for the partial tear.

In the absence of CM Punk, who, as earlier stated, also suffered an injury during the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins has been insistently pursuing Cody Rhodes to be his opponent at WrestleMania 40. And while that could be the way, with the controversy unleashed around the insertion of The Rock into the event, nothing is set in stone at the moment. Even the Architect went ahead and addressed the issue with the Rock in another recent interview.

The latest to comment on this controversy has been Seth Rollins, who, in a recent interview with Good Morning Football, wanted to share his point of view on this change of plans.

“Look at the numbers. Look at who’s been on Monday Night Raw for the last ten years more than anybody. It’s me. I get the credit, not him. So he can come in, he can get what he wants. He can take his little piece, and then he can go back to Hollywood and do this thing because we got this thing. We don’t need you. We love to have you, but we don’t need you, big guy,” Rollins said.
