This episode of Monday Night RAW came right after the WWE Survivor Series PLE. Punk addressing the Tennessee crowd created a lot of hype. While fans expected his segment to come at the start of the episode, they would have to wait until the end. But what did CM Punk say to his fans?

1. CM Punk talks about his dynamic with Triple H- Punk started his segment recounting what Triple H said in his social media post about hell freezing over. He addressed his feeling of being overwhelmed. After all, he was back in a WWE ring after almost a decade. He claimed he had changed as a person. This falls in line with Triple H’s press conference words for Punk. Punk said, “If you speak from the heart, you cannot go wrong because it is the truth and this is the truth: I’m home.” These words garnered a huge response, as the WWE is where Punk gained his now iconic reputation.

2. CM Punk acknowledges his departure- Furthermore, Punk also touched on the topic of his departure from the WWE. He claimed he left because a ‘Wiseman’ told him that leaving was right. Punk said, “Hate to say, the Wiseman was right.” The Wiseman in reference here is Paul Heyman, who served as the advocate for Punk during his heyday. But now, he is back!

3. CM Punk provides a tidbit about his better half- The wrestler also talked about his wife, AJ Lee. Punk said, “AJ is fabulous, and she sends her regards.” Could this hint at AJ Lee making a return as well? The former WWE Divas Champion had called it quits on wrestling for a long time now but even if she doesn’t make it back to television, Punk made sure to solidify her fan-favorite status in the hearts of the WWE faithful by providing an update on her.

4. CM Punk reveals the reactions he garnered from his colleagues– Punk went on to address the locker room’s reaction to his return. He said, “It’s been welcome back, welcome home, we’ve missed you, we’re happy to see you.” The Stamford-based wrestling promotion has witnessed several transformative changes since the Chicago-based wrestler’s departure in 2014. However, his impact on the industry and the wrestling promotion ensured that he received positive messages from his fellow wrestlers upon his return.

CM Punk had a lot more to say in his promo. That included taking digs at those who were not happy with his return to WWE. Who was unhappy with his return?

5. CM Punk acknowledges flak from key names- Punk next moved to the negative reactions to his return. He said, “Everybody has welcomed me back with open arms. Well, almost everybody.” This could be a shot at Seth Rollins, who was fuming in multiple videos taken by fans during Punk’s return. Rollins was seen being held back and flipping Punk off. CM Punk also added that some people were afraid of his return.

6. CM Punk highlights and solidifies his legacy– He stated he was the ‘Best in the World’ in wrestling. This refers to Punk’s initial run, where he coined the term for himself. He claimed people were afraid because of how high he set the bar. The former AEW star offered a keen reminder to the WWE Universe that he set the standards high and he intends to follow the same path.

7. CM Punk reveals his motivation for a comeback– Finally, the revered wrestler ended his promo with the most Punkesque line, “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money.” After burning his bridges with AEW and some of its stars, the Chicago-based wrestler hopes to emulate a phoenix that has risen from the ashes. However, he confirmed that he had no interest in maintaining good relationships with his colleagues in the locker room. Instead, he now aims to prioritize pursuing the money and glory that is on offer.
