A month ago, John Cena stunned fans by announcing his role in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie as a merman. Cena kind of pitched himself in the movie in an accidental run-in with Margot Robbie, a prime decision maker of casting, during the shooting of Fast X in the same street. The movie will come to the theatres in July. Fans are already charged up to taste a different version of Cena as a happy, colorful character in the movie.

Now, it seems like their excitement heated up more with the latest tweet from Cena regarding his other upcoming project, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The unique interpretation of the fan-favorite Ninja Turtles, written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Jeff Rowe will unleash its gene-spliced action on the big screen on August 2. Cena himself spilled the good news on his Twitter handle with a brand new character poster, originally shared by TMNT.

John Cena came out with an exciting update regarding his next: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

WWE’s ultimate babyface, Cena will voice a heel character as mutant rhino, Rock Steady, the hapless partner of warthog Bepop, played by Seth Regan. It’s fascinating to note that WWE superstar Sheamus portrayed the same role in the live-action TMNT movie, Out of the Shadows, back in 2016.

$80 million superstar, being a part of the latest installment of the Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles franchise, took to his Twitter to share the release date along with a poster. Cena wrote, ”Ready to Rock(steady) these Turtles! #TMNTMovie #MutantMayhem in theaters August 2nd!”

The Jeff Rowe-Kyler Spears’s brainchild presented a bunch of notable human and mutant characters and a handful of huge stars other than the former WWE champion. The list includes Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Jackie Chan as Master Splinter, and others.

The turtle brothers are almost ready to fight the gang of criminal mutants in the theatres, leaving little space for casts to invest their time and attention elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Cena’s other upcoming Barbie has seemingly gone into the back foot as the star failed to turn up at a recent press event.

John Cena didn’t attend Barbie’s press event

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which Cena is a part of, is set to release next month. There have been one after another press events for the promotion of the movie.

But the actor was nowhere during the latest press event of the movie. ET posted several photos of the cast, including Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and many more. There can be countless reasons behind his absence. Being engulfed in Mutant Mayhem’s promotion or any other movie’s shooting might be one among them.
