Drew McIntyre was last seen fighting inside the squared circle at WrestleMania 39. McIntyre lost the triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 2. The reigning title holder Gunther overcame challenges from him and Sheamus to secure the win. Since the bout, the 38-year-old is yet to make his comeback.
A few days ago, however, a rumor spread, predicting the Scottish wrestler’s return. It said McIntyre could make his long-awaited appearance. But there are also reports regarding disagreements over a new contract. Will McIntyre return? Let’s find out.

The tweet quoted PW Insider Elite as the source. Sadly, the company refuted the claims hours later and retracted the statement. “No one at PWInsider.com reported this, not in our Elite section, not anywhere. Total lies. – Mike,” the tweet said.

According to the company, “Drew McIntyre right now is working with the idea there’s a good chance he’s finishing up in WWE, he could do a big program for the title and finally leave. He will be out of action for a few more weeks. Nothing has changed regarding his contract situation.”
There are also reports that before he goes, WWE is planning a heel turn for him. So even though he is on his way out, the creative team hasn’t given up on him. Now that’s something for McIntyre fans to cheer about.
