“Couldn’t Figure Out What Was Wrong” – Eric Bischoff Recalls the Time When He Almost Died Twice Due to Unhealthy Dose of Medicines

Eric Bischoff recently shared a scary experience with his fans. In his podcast ’83 Weeks’, the former General Manager of Raw recalled an incident that occurred in his life in early 2023. Bischoff experienced a health scare, which was out of the ordinary. The reason that he recalls the incident with such horror is because the doctors told him that he almost died twice due to his own mistake.

The situation did not leave Bischoff and his wife with many options, as the ex-WWE personality put himself in a dangerous situation. All of this happened because of Bischoff’s carelessness while reading the instructions for a medicinal fiber. The fiber was for Bischoff to lead a healthy life but he had no idea how deadly it could become.

Ex-WWE employee’s near-death experience

Bischoff isn’t the only ex-WWE personality to have a major health scare earlier this year. However, the mysterious nature of his problem made everything much scarier. Things started off with Bischoff trying to take care of his health. WWE fans probably wouldn’t know that the former General Manager of Raw is hypoglycemic. Like every aware diabetic person, Bischoff was trying to regulate his blood sugar levels. As a result, he decided to inculcate ‘psyllium husks’ in his diet.

Psyllium is a fiber that has several health benefits, but everything is beneficial only when the intake amount is healthy. Bischoff started narrating, “I‘m looking at the directions and it says ‘Recommended one to three tablespoons.’ And I’m going, ‘Well, that’s for the average person.’ That’s where I stopped, I didn’t read the rest of the directions, especially the important part that said, ‘Don’t start out with a maximum dose right away, work your way up to it.’”

Soon after the heavy dosage, Bischoff could feel his blood pressure dropping low as though a lot of blood has been passed through him. He dropped unconscious after explaining to his wife what he did. His wife Lori called the ambulance, but by that time Bischoff had already fainted twice.

After keeping him in the emergency ward and having stopped the bleeding from his head after the fall, the doctors released him.

Since Bischoff was not feeling well, he informed his wife yet again after coming back from the hospital. This time, they rushed him to the ICU. “They couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They put me in ICU and I was there for a couple of days and the bleeding in my intestines was so bad, they couldn’t figure out where it was coming from,” added Bischoff.

The former Raw personality recalls he had lost so much blood that they had to airlift him to Montana because hospitals in Cody, Wyoming didn’t have enough blood or surgeons. After the doctors saved him, they revealed a terrifying detail, “You almost died twice. You almost died here, and you almost died in Cody,” Bischoff recalled.

Fortunately, medical professionals saved Bischoff even after making his grave negligence. However, what we can learn from this real-life horror account is to always read proper instructions before consuming a chemical substance.
