Rhea Ripley is known for her dominating character in the promotion. No matter what the female wrestler must be like in real life, her kayfabe is pretty intimidating. And there’s speculation that she could already be hunting for her next target. The interesting part is that she might have her eyes fixed on John Cena.

It’d be a subjective debate regarding who could come up victorious among the two. However, before arriving at a prediction, looking at the possibility of their potential encounter is more important. As far as we can see, things started stirring up between the two talents at ‘Money in the Bank’ this year.

Rhea Ripley found talking to John Cena backstage all alone

The WWE legend doesn’t have a complicated set of rules regarding how to talk to him. However, seeing the footage was shocking for a lot of fans. This happened when WWE posted an unexpected video on their YouTube channel following MITB in London. The video instantly went viral because of its mysterious vibe.

The video shows Mami talking to Cena during the MITB event. Both the talents are standing backstage in a secluded corner. The video is being officially recorded from afar, yet we can’t hear the conversation the two are having. In the end, Ripley says something and then proudly walks away, flashing her Women’s Championship title. A few seconds later, Cena slowly turns to face the camera and gives a ‘shocked’ look.

The video left all the fans wondering what the conversation was about. Could it be possible that The Eradicator was feeling a bit adventurous that day and ended up threatening Cena that he might become her next target? Since the video was recorded and posted on the official WWE channel, there’s a possibility that the promotion might be hinting at something. The fact that this wouldn’t be Mami’s first time dominating a man just adds up to the speculation.

Rhea Ripley is known for dominating men in WWE

Ever since Mami left behind her babyface persona, she has not backed away from treating men and women in WWE alike. As much as she dominates the female division of the promotion, the wrestler doesn’t discriminate when it comes to male wrestlers. Fans got a glimpse of her inter-divisional dominance a few months ago in March.

On an episode of Friday Night SmackDown in March earlier this year, Dominik Mysterio was facing off against Santos Escobar. As Dom was visibly losing to Escobar, Ripley came in to defend her on-screen love interest and beat up the Mexican wrestler outside the ring.

Although it was nothing out of the ordinary, it still angered fans. But it looks like WWE is trying to go down the same road with a few changes.

Mainly, fans were mad that Ripley got the upper hand at Escobar because he was already worn out due to the match. So, having a strong female wrestler dominate a fellow male wrestler was an exploitation of opportunity. So, if the 26-year-old confronts Cena on his return, fans could end up liking it. But it looks like both wrestlers are a bit busy fighting their own battles as of now.

John Cena might face off against another dangerous foe before taking on Rhea Ripley

The last time fans saw Cena wrestling was his WrestleMania 39 match for the United States Championship. Despite losing the match, Cena hasn’t given up on winning a championship this year. It appears that he has his eyes set on yet another WWE Championship. This speculation came in after the Hollywood superstar uploaded Gunther’s picture on his Instagram.

Although the upload could have been a random one, fans still speculate that WWE is planning to make Cena fight for the Intercontinental Championship with the Austrian wrestler. It is to be noted that the title around GUNTHER’s waist is the only one Cena hasn’t won in WWE.

While the match is unannounced as of yet, WWE has confirmed two of John Cena’s future appearances. One will be at SmackDown on 1st September, the night before WWE Payback. Next, fans would see him in Hyderabad, India for WWE Superstar Spectacle on September 8.

Despite the lack of a match card, some fans are speculating that perhaps Cena might face Gunther for his Intercontinental Championship at one of these events. On the other hand, Rhea Ripley is currently building towards facing Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Payback. So, if both wrestlers have so much on their plate currently, how and when are we going to see them face off against each other?

Could Ripley have a physical confrontation with Cena?

Much like the rest of their match cards, WWE hasn’t officially confirmed or announced these two wrestlers facing each other yet. So, as of now, their interaction is still speculation. There is a slight possibility that we could see it taking place after all. For now, it appears both wrestlers have got their hands.
