Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are having an intense buildup for their upcoming WrestleMania match. Both wrestlers were featured in a fantastic segment on RAW earlier this week. The promo between Rhodes and Reigns became the talking point of the wrestling world afterward.
Reigns being himself, didn’t pull any breaks while trash-talking and stepped into much more personal territory. During the promo, The Tribal Chief talked about how he believes Rhodes has been a runner all his life. Although Rhodes had a reply of his own at that moment, he recently appeared in an interview to talk more about the same.

During the promo, Rhodes was accused of constantly running away. Reigns pointed out all the instances where The American Nightmare had left his current project to move on to another one whether it be his Stardust gimmick or his AEW tenure.
In its reply, Rhodes thought of something that he hadn’t earlier. He appreciated Reigns pointing it out, since otherwise, he wouldn’t have gotten the chance to clear the reasons behind his constant shifts in the past. “I love that Roman brought up what he brought up in terms of running,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes then went on to explain the real reason behind the constant ‘running away’: “I did beat adversity and I did not say, you know what, I’m gonna put my feet in the sand and stay… I’ve hated the expression trust the process all my life… I’d rather create the process.”
Rhodes did not want to be stuck in an unrewarding situation for too long. He did not want to wait around patiently while time consumes the fruits of his labor. Instead, Rhodes wanted to bet on himself and move forward.

In the same interview, after talking about the reasons behind his actions, Rhodes then went on to imply that he doesn’t regret his decisions. Even if the decisions that he took would be regarded as bad, he gladly owns up to them.
He mentions how the things that he didn’t do well are also a part of him as much as the things that he did execute well.

So, according to him, the verdict lies with fans rather than his WrestleMania opponent. Since he has now also explained the real reason to his fans, Rhodes has nothing more to say.
All the conflict between the two will now be settled inside the ring as WrestleMania 39 draws near.
