Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar saga is a non-forgettable rivalry in WWE. ‘The Tribal Chief’ went toe-to-toe with ‘The Beast Incarnate’ on several occasions and main-evented three WrestleManias. ‘The American Nightmare’ brought up the Georgia connection between him and ‘The Head of the Table’ while praising Reigns for having a match with Lesnar.

Cody Rhodes on why Roman Reigns was able to face Brock Lesnar

Recently, the former Intercontinental Champion gave an interview with The Associated Press. Rhodes disclosed being from Georgia and Reigns going to “Georgia Tech”. He started, “there’s an element I see a little differently in the sense that Roman’s not a Bulldog; he’s a Yellow Jacket.”

The 37-year-old said, “Roman went to Georgia Tech, the MIT of the South….That forms his wrestling IQ. His conditioning is that of a high-level athlete. That’s why he was able to stand in there with Brock Lesnar (last year) and look the part.”

He has praised the Undisputed Champion several times for his accomplishments since they met face-to-face after Rhodes won the Royal Rumble. Not only Rhodes, but Brock Lesnar himself has praised Reigns in rare footage seen in the recent Rivals episode.

Rhodes shares he is a different opponent than Lesnar

The AP host had asked Rhodes about his WrestleMania match being at the point when both the stars are at their peak. The American Nightmare gave some facts about how Reigns and him are different while being at the peak of their powers.

Rhodes said about Reigns, “You mentioned he’s peaking at this point. That’s a scary thought if you think about the success he’s already had. What might be in my favor is simply the fact that I don’t think Roman knows enough about what I’ve done and who I am.”

The 37-year-old added about himself, “My thing is taking something that wrestling purists, analysts, observers, and journalists say cannot be done or will ever be done again and subverting those expectations.”

Clearly, Rhodes is unstoppable since he returned to WWE last year and quickly became a top babyface. As for Reigns, the only word to describe him is “GODMODE” as he has been on the top for two years now.
