Hulk Hogan is indeed one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling. He was an integral part of WWE’s first boom period in the 80s. However, CM Punk mentioned The Hulkster in his first AEW promo back in 2021, which has angered a WCW legend who justified his reasoning recently. Moreover, Punk also said his return is bigger than Kevin Nash and Scott Hall invading WCW.
The 67-year-old who has always taken shots at The Best in the World, once again bashed Punk. The WCW legend also claims that Tony Khan shouldn’t bring back Punk for the Wembley arena show.

In the recent episode of the 83 Weeks podcast. Eric Bischoff once again bashed CM Punk. Moreover, he shared his reasoning for why he doesn’t like the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ after his AEW debut.
Bischoff said, “The first thing he did, one of the first things he did was bury Hulk Hogan. Now I’m not here defending Hulk Hogan. People are going to have their opinions about Hogan as do I and we all know that, I think the world of Hulk Hogan but for Punk to come out in his first promo, and bury Hulk Hogan in order to try to get himself over. To me, that told me everything I needed to know about CM Punk. That’s the cheapest freaking heat you could possibly try to get.”
He added, “First of all, he doesn’t know Hulk Hogan. I don’t think he’s ever met Hulk Hogan, he certainly never worked with Hulk Hogan. So to come out and bury a guy and call someone a piece of sh*t that you’ve never even met and you don’t know. I’m sorry.”
Additionally, Bischoff also didn’t like Punk saying his AEW debut was bigger than Hall and Nash invading WCW. A few days back too, the former RAW General Manager blasted Punk for appearing on RAW backstage.

As per the 67-year-old, this promo defined who Punk really was as a wrestler, i.e. overrated. Moreover, the WWE Hall of Famer claimed the former two-time AEW World Champion did it to get over with the internet wrestling fans.
Nevertheless, Bischoff did praise the Best in the World for maintaining his mysticism after taking a hiatus from AEW. However, he took a shot at his wrestling skills upon his return to professional wrestling.
