Dave Bautista nailed it as an actor and pro wrestler, something that is a well-documented fact to the world. But even some of his ardent fans also might not be aware of The Animal’s other not-so-common pursuit where he excelled as well. The former world champion dabbled in Brazilian mixed martial art, poshly known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu BJJ years ago.

Pro wrestling mostly relates to grappling, so it’s not bizarre that a ton of superstars possess a firm background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sport in their own rights. Just following in the footsteps of Undertaker and many other pro wrestlers with a BJJ record, Batista started training back in 2010 and now leveled up his supremacy a step ahead. While the former WWE guy showed his success on Instagram, it made his former WWE colleague CM Punk react as well.

Amid his busiest Hollywood agenda, the ex-WWE star couldn’t continue his BJJ practice since 2014. But his love for the game didn’t fizzle out. His long-time effort came into full circle when he recently has been promoted to BJJ brown belt, the second highest ranking color. The wrestling icon was full of emotion, sharing this good news with fans on Instagram.

Along with a detailed description of his passion for the game, Batista thanked a series of people who helped him on his journey in a long, heartfelt post.

‘Good days and bad days, there’s only truth on the mat. You’re exposed one way or another. If you know what I mean then you know what I f***** mean.’, the actor concluded in an empowering note.

This post didn’t go unnoticed by his old WWE peer, CM Punk. The current AEW star, 44, took to his Instagram stories to come up with a chilling warning to anybody who thinks of messing with Batista, the BJJ maniac. Punk shared the post with a caption, ‘Everyone, keep your legs and feet away from this maniac.’

It only shows Punk’s recognition of Batista as a seasoned BJJ player. The Second City Saint has got huge respect for Batista, which came to the surface several times before.

CM Punk and Dave Batista share a cordial relationship

While Punk and Batista were from different WWE tenures, a couple of their latter years crashed and it seems like the superstars formed a solid friendship over time.

Batista made it big in his acting career. Punk too has the same aspirations regarding his acting endeavor apart from the squared circle associations. For the unversed, Punk has been making several television series, including the show Heels. In the promotion of the series in 2021, he heaped praise on Bautista and admitted that he would like to follow in his footsteps. In the response, Batista predicted he will be a bigger asset in Holywood than pro wrestling.
