CM Punk‘s return to the WWE was like a freight train running at top speed. Months of speculation led to the Chicago native appearing at the end of WWE Survivor Series 2023. Fans were excited that the WWE brought him back and set him after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

However, the momentum of CM Punks’ return fell apart after a tricep injury at the Royal Rumble 2024 put Punk out of action. This could mean fans won’t see Punk at WrestleMania 40. But a new video uploaded by the star may provide a ray of hope.

Punk’s involvement with Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has been the talk of the town. Fans hoped that ‘The Best in the World’ would win the Royal Rumble and challenge for the title. However, things didn’t work out when Cody Rhodes won the match.

While fans knew it was part of Rhodes finishing his story, things turned for the worse. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Punk sustained a tricep injury during the match. Soon thereafter, a video surfaced online where CM Punk said that he would require surgery for his tricep.

This fueled the absence for months speculation fans were already having. Fortunately a new video by Punk shows the former WWE Champion in the gym working on rehabilitating his injured arm.

 

Punk’s injury was later confirmed by ESPN. Even the wrestler himself announced on the opening of RAW after the Royal Rumble that he was injured. CM Punk said, “In the course of the Rumble, I tore my right tricep.” While doing doing the arm workout to the full potential, he is clearly trying to get better fast.

Can CM Punk show up at Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 40?

Punk ensured that everybody knew this was not him retiring but just an unexpected bump in the road. However, fans were quick to speculate that he would be missing the Elimination Chamber PLE as well as WrestleMania 40.

The WWE knows that Punk is a massive draw. Despite having Dwayne Johnson on the cards for Mania, CM Punk has proven to bring more people in. Fans love Punk and if there is a chance he returns before April 6, 2024, the WWE will find a way to add him to the match card.

There have also been speculations that Punk may get involved with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins against Johnson and The Bloodline. Punk has had beef with ‘The Rock’ before he left the WWE.
