WWE celebrates episode 1,601 of Monday Night Raw from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The latest edition featured several matches and segments of interest, such as Gunther defending the Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston and The Judgment Day putting the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles on the line against DIY. In addition, tonight will also begin the road to Elimination Chamber while also providing some important updates on current superstars. All this and much more took place in this episode of RAW.  Here are the results.

WWE Monday Night RAW 15/01/2024 Results

Opening segment:

“The Best in the World,” entered the arena with his arm in a sling as he acknowledged fans before addressing the crowd. Revealing his recent tricep injury, he congratulated Cody Rhodes and expressed his determination to return to action. Punk reflected on facing challenges in his career and reiterated he will overcome this one too despite not being able to participate at WrestleMania this year.

Before he can finish his speech, he is interrupted by none other than Drew McIntyre. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ admitted to harboring ill feelings towards ‘The Cult of Personality’. McIntyre revealed that he felt relief at finding out about Punk’s injury and it would be preventing him from winning the title.

CM Punk had heard enough, as he promised to return and confront McIntyre. The Scotsman then attacks him and targets his injured arm. However, Sami Zayn intervenes, driving McIntyre away, while officials attend to Punk. This save by Zayn leads towards the main event of the night as Sami Zayn will face Drew McIntyre.

Backstage Segment: The Judgement Day are together backstage

Rhea Ripley assures that Bayley will not dare to challenge her for her championship.  Meanwhile, Damian Priest and Finn Balor promise that, after tonight, no one will dare to challenge the stable.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (c) vs. #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)

Ciampa and Priest kick off the match, with Priest dominating the match early on. Though DIY manages to briefly control the match but The Judgment Day counters the attacks with a double crossbody. The match ends with Priest executing a Razor’s Edge on Ciampa, followed by Balor’s Coupe de Grace, securing the victory for The Judgment Day.

Post the win, JD and Dominik join the celebration and Priest calls out R-Truth to join them. R-Truth addresses all of his companions one by one. Priest interrupts him to inform him that The Judgment Day is a family and he is not part of it. However, he likes him, and for that reason, he won’t be in charge of doing this. Truth doesn’t understand Priest’s words. Mysterio attacks R-Truth from behind! Finn and J.D. join him in continuing to beat up Truth. The Miz makes his entrance to help Truth but can do nothing against the numerical superiority of the heels. The Judgment Day celebrates over its fallen rivals to end the segment.

Backstage segment: We see CM Punk being treated backstage after the attack.

Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark vs. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven

Piper attacks Zoey as soon as the bell rings. Stark counters with a superkick. Baszler takes over and throws himself at Niven. After a hail of punches, Shayna focuses on punishing the Scot’s arm. Zoey surprises Chelsea by executing a Z-360. 1..2..3.

Winners: Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler

In-ring segment

Cody Rhodes makes his entrance. Chants of “You deserve it!” prevent him from starting his promo. Rhodes begins his promo, getting emotional with everything that has happened in the last few hours. But now it’s time to talk about WrestleMania 40. Cody turns to the logo of the event, at which point Seth Rollins interrupts him.
The champion points out that the fans are right. “You deserve it, man,” Rollins says. The Visionary assures him that choosing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania is a mistake, so he suggests that he face him.

Rollins understands that Cody chose Reigns last year, as there was only one title. But now the picture has changed. He asks “Do you want the Hollywood title, the backstage politicking, or do you want the Dusty Rhodes title?” Rhodes says he’ll think about the proposition.

Backstage Segment

Kofi Kingston performs a promo backstage. He proclaims that The New Day are specialists in winning titles. And tonight, he’ll add one more to his trophy cabinet when he beats Gunther.

Jey Uso vs Bronson Reed

Reed starts strong, having the upper hand in the match but Jey fights back with a series of punches and a diving crossbody. However, Reed manages to regain control but is countered again by the former Bloodline member. Dodging Reed’s finishing move, Jey lands a superkick followed by his Uso Splash for the win.

Winner: Jey Uso

Backstage segment

Andrade signs his contract as a Raw superstar in Adam Pearce’s office. Nick Aldis bursts onto the scene. The SmackDown General Manager regrets not being quick enough but still welcomes the Mexican.

Backstage Segment

Gunther responds to Kofi Kingston in a backstage promo. The Austrian points out that tonight Kingston will fight the biggest fight of his life, while for him he will be one more victim to be forgotten tomorrow.

Backstage Segment

Jackie Redmond asks Becky Lynch if she has a plan B after failing to win the Royal Rumble. The Irishwoman assures that she will continue to train and give it her all without stopping until she returns to the top and wins the title.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther vs. Kofi Kingston

It was an exciting back-and-forth battle between the two. With Gunther applying submission holds and dominating much of the match. Despite Kofi showing some resilience, Gunther maintained his control over the match with his brute strength, powerful strikes, and slams. Kingston does manage to make a small comeback. However, it isn’t enough. Ultimately, Gunther secures the win with a devastating powerbomb and therefore retains his championship.

Winner: Gunther

At the end of the match, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci attack Xavier Woods and Kofi.

Backstage Segment

Jackie Redmond interviews Sami Zayn backstage. He says “Drew McIntyre needs a dose of reality, and I’m going to be the one to give it to him tonight,”

The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka) vs. Natalya and Tegan Nox ( Undisputed WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championship Match)

Tegan Nox and Kairi Sane start the match, with Nox gaining an early advantage. Nox and Natalya team up against The Kabuki Warriors, but Asuka and Sane manage a comeback. Asuka and Sane isolate Nox, leading to Sane’s Insane Elbow securing the win for their team and retaining their titles.

Winner: The Kabuki Warriors

Backstage Segment

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance announce that, after speaking with Adam Pearce, they have secured their rematch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

In-ring segment

Bayley enters the ring and celebrates her successful Rumble Win. She is joined by her other members from Damage CTRL. Rhea Ripley comes out to say a few words but Nia Jax ambushes her leading to a brawl in the ring. Jax confronts Bayley, advising her to choose Iyo Sky as her WrestleMania opponent. Bayley defers her decision, promising to reveal it on SmackDown.

Backstage segment

Drew McIntyre is interviewed backstage. The Scotsman defends himself against Sami Zayn’s accusations, pointing out that he has always told the truth. As for the Canadian, remember that he has never beaten him, and tonight will be no different.

Main Event: Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre

It was a hard-fought match for the two. Drew McIntyre managed to take early control of the match, but Zayn being the underdog fights back, ultimately sending McIntyre crashing into the commentary table. McIntyre regains control in the ring, However, Zayn attempts a Helluva Kick, only to be stopped by McIntyre’s spinebuster. The match intensifies but Despite Zayn’s attempts, McIntyre ultimately secures the win with a Claymore Kick.

McIntyre requires the referee to raise his hand. After that, he leaves the ring.
