Wrestling fans across the globe were hoping for Punk to return to WWE after his controversial exit from AEW. For months, fans kept on picking cues from here and there, but in the end, WWE strongly denied any news confirming Punk’s inclusion.
Prominent wrestling publication, PWinsider.com reported that “Ace Steel is in Chicago and will be working Bound for Glory weekend as a Producer for Impact Wrestling.” PW Insider confirmed the news from multiple sources.
Ace Steel has been called upon to work as a producer and his appearance at Bound for Glory PPV along with other shows at the weekend. It will be a try-out opportunity for the former AEW star.
However, PW Insider has also reported that ROH was not trying to hire Steel to reach out to Punk. They reported, “I don’t believe they are using Ace to get to the heart of CM Punk, as they initially wanted to bring Steel in during the time period he was fired from AEW and Punk was still contracted to AEW. I think it was wanting to bring in a producer who was good at his job, nothing more.”
