A few days ago, several pictures of AJ Lee were uploaded to her Instagram profile. The former WWE star looked ripped in those, having gone through a physical transformation. Lee, who now goes by her real name, AJ Mendez, looked more swole than she did during her successful stint with the WWE.

This also sparked speculation about her in-ring return. But the reason is vastly different. Lee will be next seen in a movie, in which she paid tribute to her time in WWE. But how? Let’s find out.

Lee retired from WWE in April 2015 and took a hiatus from wrestling. She will, however, make her in-ring return! But don’t get too excited, though. The said return will be in the form of her character in the upcoming movie- Sacramento. The Kristen Stewart, Michael Cera movie also cast AJ Lee as an ex-professional fighter.

A still from the film showed the three-time WWE Divas Champion inside the ring performing her signature ‘Black Widow’. The submission hold was extremely effective in getting the 36-year-old over the line during her matches.

With it, she also paid tribute to her WWE origins. On the other hand, the said venture, a comedy road trip film, is yet to announce a release date. So fans will have to wait for an announcement to know when to expect Lee’s return to the ring, in the movie of course!
