Ric Flair is among the handful of pro-wrestlers to be inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame twice. He is also the first among others to achieve this special feat. After wrestling for 50 years, the legend hung up his boots last year. Flair is arguably the greatest to grace the squared circle. The 74-year-old has been part of 800 matches. His popularity translated into a healthy net worth of millions, which he amassed over the years.

However, another Hall of Famer reportedly made more money in just four matches than Flair did in his 50-year career.

Bill Goldberg is a pro-wrestling icon. Before working in the WWE, ‘The Myth’ did his hard yards in the WCW. He defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. In WWE, Goldberg was engaged in a feud with ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar, which kept the spectators on their toes as the two put on power-packed matches. He was able to defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 in 2004.

Goldberg’s first stint in WWE lasted only a year, from 2003 to 2004. He returned to pro wrestling after a hiatus of 12 years. In his second stint, which lasted six years, Goldberg’s first match was against his old foe. The returning superstar took less than 1 and a half minutes to go over ‘The Beast Incarnate’.

The former WWE Universal Champion fought in just 12 matches in six years, from 2016 to 2022. Four of those matches took place in Saudi Arabia. The Undertaker defeated him at Super Showdown 2019, while he took on Bray Wyatt and won the Universal Championship at Super Showdown 2020. ‘The Myth’ picked up another win against Bobby Lashley in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Crown Jewel 2021, however, lost his final match and his title to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022.

Goldberg, reportedly, made $8 million from these four appearances. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the 56-year-old was paid $2 million for each of his matches in Saudi Arabia. Imagine what Ric Flair must be thinking! After putting his body through immense pain for fifty years, ‘The Nature Boy’ was reportedly able to amass $5 million, while his fellow Hall of Famer reportedly took just 3 matches to eclipse that figure.

Goldberg addresses his AEW signing rumors

Goldberg became a free agent after his WWE contract expired in January of this year. There were rumors about the legend’s retirement match and AEW debut. The 56-year-old recently addressed the topics during a chat with 93.7 The Ticket.

The WWE Hall of Famer said he and Vince McMahon had a “handshake understanding that after the Roman Reigns match, I would have a proper retirement match and that hasn’t come to fruition through them”. Goldberg said nobody should tell him when to call it quits and reiterated that his character deserves a proper send-off.
