Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, the two names that ruled the WWE in the past decade. Both faced each other for nine times, in a rivalry of seven years. And once again, they have gotten the spotlight. 

But this time, it is not because of another feud. It is because of rare footage of Brock Lesnar, in which he put all the in-ring differences aside and praised Roman Reigns calling him a ‘special talent’.

Brock Lesnar called Roman Reigns a ‘special talent’

The footage is from an episode of the WWE’s popular documentary, ‘WWE Rivals’. The episode was entirely dedicated to the iconic rivalry between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. During the episode, Lesnar recalled the time when he encountered Roman Reigns for the first time.

Remembering that moment, ‘The Beast’ said that it all started when Reigns was a young wrestler in WWE. He also stated that when someone has something special you just tend to sense that, and he felt the same with Roman, he thought that Reigns was a special talent.

Recalling their first encounter, Brock Lesnar said, “When it all first started with Roman, he was a young man. You just know when somebody has it and I think he is a special talent.”

The first clash between ‘The Tribal Chied’ and ‘The Beast’ was one of the most loved matches of WWE. Even though both superstars performed amazingly, but none of them was able to get the last laugh.

The first chapter of the ‘Reigns vs. Lesnar’ saga

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar clashed for the first time at WrestleMania 31. It was also the first time that Reigns was the main event at WrestleMania. Both Lesnar and Reigns gave phenomenal performances, but neither got the victory.

And that was all because Seth Rollins, who was ‘Mr. Money in the Bank’ at that time, entered the match. He cashed in at the perfect moment and snatched the title out of their hands. 

That placement was so unexpected that it gave goosebumps to the entire WWE Universe. Some fans even thought that it sidelined Roman Reigns and he might end up being a mid-card wrestler. 

However, according to Lesnar, he was a special talent and he was supposed to go a long way in the wrestling industry. And, Reigns proved him right. Currently, Roman Reigns is the face of WWE and Brock Lesnar played a crucial role in bringing that superstardom to him. Even Reigns admitted that WrestleMania 31 was a life-changing moment for him.
