Brandi Rhodes Switches Character to Rhea Ripley While Congratulating Husband Cody Rhodes After His Win at WWE Backlash

A lot was on the line for Cody Rhodes at the recently concluded WWE Backlash. He was headlining the second consecutive WWE premium live event after WrestleMania 39. While ‘The American Nightmare’ had a ‘beast’ to tame, the 37-year-old took less than 10 minutes to go over his formidable opponent, Brock Lesnar.

Following her husband’s victory, Brandi Rhodes chose to congratulate the winner in a ‘Rhea Ripley-esque’ manner.

Cody Rhodes paid Brock Lesnar back in the same coin at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot arena in Puerto Rico on Saturday night. He not just won the match, but also avenged the brutal betrayal on Raw after ‘Mania. Cody repeatedly landed steel chair shots on ‘the Beast Incarnate’ even before the bell was rung. This was akin to the former WWE Universal Champion’s actions on the fateful night on Raw.

The victory left Mrs. Rhodes impressed, who praised her ‘Papi’ in a tweet.

The moniker is used by Rhea Ripley for her Judgement Day stablemate Dominik Mysterio, who made quite the impression at Saturday’s event. Ripley too featured in one of the matches against ‘Latino World Order’ member Zelina Vega, putting her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line.

After jostling for a little over seven minutes, ‘The Eradicator’ had the last laugh, as she kept her gold intact. However, Vega won the crowd’s support. Following her bout, she received a standing ovation from the spectators.

Meanwhile, Rhodes’ quick win via a flash pinfall wasn’t received well by the WWE Universe, who deemed the encounter unworthy of being the flagship match. On the other hand, Brandi Rhodes showed concern for her husband during his match following a mishap.

Cody Rhodes’ visionary move leaves Brock Lesnar in pain

After taking multiple steel chair shots on his back, Brock Lesnar inflicted the same pain on his opponent as he took Cody Rhodes to ‘Suplex City’. The move, which affected the receiver’s back, left ‘The Prince Of Pro Wrestling’ dazed for several minutes as the 45-year-old rag-dolled him again. While trying to build his momentum, Rhodes accidentally removed the padding of a turnbuckle, leaving the steel exposed. Minutes later, this worked in his favor.

During a maneuver, the 37-year-old managed to push Lesnar to the exposed turnbuckle, busting the latter open. Soon, parts of the squared circle were covered in blood trickling from ‘The Beast Incarnate’s’ wound.

Reacting to the mishap, Brandi Rhodes tweeted she was relieved to see her husband safe. “My husband is covered in blood and it’s not his. Praise Him 🙏🏾 #wwebacklash,” she wrote.

The concern was legitimate, as Rhodes had torn his right pectoral muscle shortly after his WWE return in 2022. It kept him out of action for several months.
