Dwayne Johnson has mentioned multiple times that he wanted to run for president. While teasing it, he never fully invested himself in politics. However, now he explains why he never went into the idea of becoming a candidate or actually running for a presidential election.
But why didn’t one of the most popular WWE stars run for president despite both parties asking him to?

While on the What Now? with Trevor Noah podcast, Johnson talked about his thoughts on running for president and explained why he never committed to the idea. Moreover, he explained how people actually wanted him to run and his thoughts on it. This idea of running for president originated back in 2017.
“At the end of 2022, I got a visit from the parties, asking me if I was going to run, if I could run,” Johnson said. This was after he said on social media that he was interested in running for a presidential campaign. The fame that Johnson has ensured he would get votes from the public and his fanbase.
“My goal has never been to be in politics. As a matter of fact, there is a lot about politics that I hate,” He added. Even in the WWE, Johnson has been one of those guys who never engaged in backstage politics. Unlike The Undertaker, he was never part of any group in the WWE that had control over things.
Despite all this, Johnson claimed, “If that’s truly what the people want, then of course I will consider it.” This goes to show that Johnson is really a people person, and despite his views on politics, he would happily join if people asked him to. This shows how down-to-earth Johnson is when it comes to the people, be it his or others.

Johnson’s current status in the WWE
Johnson is currently back in the WWE, but there is no confirmation on what he will be doing. While the SAG-AFTRA Strike is nearing its end, there is speculation that he will return to Hollywood.
While many speculate he will be involved in Roman Reign’s storyline by WrestleMania 40. However, nothing is confined yet.
