It is hard to think of John Cena. as anything other than a PG-friendly, ultimate babyface in WWE. After the PG era started in the WWE, wrestlers have been asked to change their gimmicks to be more kid-friendly. Being the longest-running baby face of the company, Cena is as wholesome as it gets. As he became the face of the brand Cena had to carry himself with class in and outside the ring. But what about his personal life before the PG era?
According to one experience Cena had in 2006, the wholesome, kid-friendly superstar was quite the lady’s man. This is a side of Cena that quite a few fans won’t even know about.

John Cena spent a night with six girls
During his WWE run, Cena epitomized the clean-cut babyface character with perfect ideals. We also saw Cena have a long-term relationship with Nikki Bella. Cena even took the WrestleMania 33 stage to propose to her. The WWE Total Divas reality TV show expanded on their relationship before the two split before parting ways in 2018.

But Cena had quite a different lifestyle that he openly talked about. While on The Howard Stern Show in 2006, the topic was about Cena’s personal life off-screen with the ladies. Cena was not hesitant to openly discuss his escapades with women and female fans. The topic included all sorts of adult-related talks that young Cena fans would be shocked to hear.
When asked about his most memorable experience with multiple women, Cena said, “Here was one instance where it was me and six other girls.” Naturally, this answer got Stern and his co-host Robin Quivers interested in what Cena was talking about. 2006 was two years before the WWE went PG, and wrestlers had to clean up their act even outside the squared circle.
Quivers quickly asked Cena if he could handle all those women at once. To this, Cena answered, “Hell no, I wasn’t able to handle all six. That was just too much.” Cena talked about how he would meet women who were either fans or in a group after shows looking to have fun.

He also clarified that the WWE has a larger fanbase than the stereotypical 18-35 year old male demographic. This segment shows a side of Cena many fans did not know about. This was a young Cena before he matured into the man he is today.
The initial Cena vs Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect
Before Cena became the bearer of Hustle, Loyal, and Respect, he was “The Doctor of Thuganomics“. This was an uncensored version of Cena that got him over with the fans overnight. He would rap and diss his opponents with not-so-kid-friendly language.

The Ruthless Aggression ear was utilized to its full potential by Cena with this gimmick. After 2005, the gimmick was dropped for a more mature version of Cena. However, not being the PG era yet, he didn’t miss an opportunity to drop a curse word now and again. After the WWE went PG in 2008, the Cena we know and love was born.
