There is nothing new about receiving unforeseen challenges from your co-star as a WWE wrestler. The competition is immense, especially when you have got the championship belt wrapped around your waist. Carmelo Hayes recently met with an unfortunate fate when Baron Corbin attacked the NXT champion out of nowhere. Pretty evidently, Corbin has got his eyes set on the championship.

The NXT champion took to Twitter soon after the attack. There, Hayes wrote, “At least it wasn’t Brock…” This implies that he feels grateful that he only got beat up by Corbin and not Brock Lesnar. Fans dig into his fear of The Beast Incarnate to a whole another level in the comments of his tweet.

It hasn’t been many days since Hayes defeated Bron Breakker. Hayes has been the NXT champion for quite a while now and recently defended his title against Breakker successfully. This suggests that Hayes is not the kind of wrestler who would give up his title easily. But in the recent NXT episode, Corbin got the best of Hayes when he attacked him.

However, he doesn’t seem to mind Corbin’s open challenge so long as The Beast Incarnate himself doesn’t come to NXT to attack him.

They are concerned that his public display of fear will give an idea to WWE’s creative team, which ultimately won’t be good for the NXT champion.

Some fans are already looking forward to Hayes fighting Brock Lesnar whenever the former makes it to the main roster.

These fans are just warning the NXT superstar to watch his thoughts so that he doesn’t accidentally manifest them.

Only some of his true fans will care enough to warn him against the atrocities he could be putting himself through.

If there is a pattern to Lesnar’s thinking, then Hayes should definitely be worried. First, The Beast Incarnate attacked Cody Rhodes during a promo. Lesnar could be connecting the dots through the relationship that Hayes and Rhodes share and how The American Nightmare helped him once.
