Pop sensation Dua Lipa stirred up a social media storm with her latest social media post, featuring none other than WWE Legend John Cena dressed as a merman. The surprising collaboration unfolded on the set of the 2o23 blockbuster movie “Barbie,” evident from the whimsical images.

Celebrating her recent award nomination, Dua Lipa expressed gratitude for her song “Dance The Night” making the cut. The post also unveiled the unexpected link between John Cena and Barbie, a cameo that, according to Margot Robbie, serendipitously materialized during a chance encounter at Leavesden studio.

Pop singer Dua Lipa uploaded a series of pictures on Instagram in her recent post on December 11th where she tagged WWE Legend John Cena. In the picture, John Cena could be seen sitting beside her while dressed up as a merman. From the pictures, it is evident that it is from the set of the movie Barbie.

Dua Lipa also posted a caption for her post. The caption read, “Wow waking up a Golden Globe nomineeeeeee!!! This barbie is so grateful! So happy I get to share this moment with my collaborators for our song “Dance The Night” @carolineailin @iammarkronson @wyattish and so much love to the Greta, Noah, Margot and Ryan on their much deserved nominations!!! Her post was a reference to her recent nominations for the Golden Globe awards. Her song Dance The Night cuts nominations. This year, six songs have made the cut and three of them are from the Margot Robbie-led movie Barbie.

In the post, Dua Lipa also tagged other collaborators of the song including Billie Eilish, whose song What Was I Made For? also made the nominations. Dua Lipa also showed love for co-actors, including Ryan Gosling, who played the role of Ken in the movie. And that’s how John Cena was linked to the movie. Margot Robbie reveals John Cena’s cameo was accidental

During an interview with Crossy for FM104, Barbie star Margot Robbie revealed that John Cena’s cameo happened by chance. When Robbie discovered that Cena was filming at the same studio, she called him up. Cena agreed and ended up as a merman in the Barbie movie.

Robbie revealed her conversation with Cena. She said, “We’re shooting at Leavesden. Do you want to come be in “Barbie?’” And he was like, “Yeah! Because he’s just that kind of guy — like, ‘Sure!” Cena was shooting for his movie Fast X at Leavesden studio.
