We are just a day away from WWE Backlash, the current talk of the town for WWE fans. On May 6th, the show’s going to emanate from Puerto Rico, the home country of rapper Bad Bunny. The famous rapper has always been in the company’s major plan for the event. His Street Fight match against The Judgement Day’s Damian Priest is one of the most anticipated ones on the card. That being said, it was never what WWE originally had in their mind for the Puerto Rican singer.

Bad Bunny’s original Backlash plan revealed

Fightful Select reported that the initial plan was to place Bunny alongside WWE legend Rey Mysterio to take on The Judgement Day members Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest in a tag team match. It also intended to show Bunny pinning Dominik for fans’ satisfaction.

That would make sense because Bad Bunny was the key contributor to Dominik’s devastating loss against his father at WrestleMania 39. The match saw the singer helping the 48-year-old Rey Mysterio to attain victory by stopping Dominik from grabbing a chain.

However, WWE later pulled Mysterious from the Backslash match with Bunny, for they have reportedly been convinced about the Grammy winner’s ability to deliver an amazing singles match.

While Dominik isn’t in the picture anymore, his fellow Judgment Day member is gearing up for a solid revenge, nevertheless.

Damian Priest won’t go easy on Bad Bunny at Backlash

Bunny’s WrestleMania involvement put him at the target point of The Judgement Day. The Raw after WrestleMania also brought a heated moment between Damian Priest and Bad Bunny. Priest ended up choke-slamming the rapper through the announcer’s table.

However, Bunny and Priest were in an alliance long before the former got involved himself in the Mysterios’ family feud. They even joined forces to take on The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37.

However, currently, it seems that Bunny’s former tag team partner is highly confident of defeating him at their one-on-one fight in Backlash. He even belittled the singer’s sporting ability.

Priest said, ”Bad Bunny does everything for the fans, and that’s cool for him and it works for him, “The only issue is this is not a concert. This is a physical combat sport. This is what I do for a living, and I think he’s confused. I’m going to treat him like he’s a WWE Superstar. I’m going to beat him just like I would beat anybody else and, in fact, I might give him a little extra just for the disrespect.”

Priest also believes that the Puerto Rican fans will mostly root for Bunny, something that will work as the fuel for him to come out victorious in the end.

Regardless of the result, we can be assured of getting a thrilling match involving these two at Backlash on May 6th.
