Trust Dwayne Johnson to treat his fans right! The wrestler-turned-actor recently announced a deal that’ll allow consumers of the ZOA energy drink to buy the product at a discount. Johnson partnered with Amazon Prime to float the offer at a time when another energy drink brand is facing a probe.

For those unaware, it is Logan Paul’s PRIME energy drink that has landed in hot water due to its caffeine content. Johnson’s energy drink, with its low caffeine content, definitely stands a chance against the popular beverage co-owned by the YouTuber and rising WWE star.

Of late, Logan Paul has captivated the energy drink market with his brand- PRIME. In the last year, the energy drink brand has witnessed massive growth. While it was limited to the North American market previously, his brand has gone global in the last few months. PRIME also ended up replacing one of its competitors – Gatorade – as the hydration sponsor of European soccer giant FC Barcelona. However, despite its success, the sale of the drink is illegal in a European county.

According to a report by The Local DK, Denmark’s Veterinary and Food Administration believes PRIME contains a higher quantity of caffeine than permitted in the country,

However, another WWE icon seems to have done quite well when it comes to the caffeine content in his energy drink. Dwayne Johnson is a co-owner of ZOA, along with Dany Garcia, Dave Rienzi, and John Shulman.

He recently took to Twitter to announce 30 percent off of ZOA as part of Amazon’s Prime Day. Interestingly, he also wrote: “No jitters, no crash, just results.” Is this Johnson’s way of stating that his energy drink is safer when compared to PRIME? There is no way to verify that as of now.

But are you the aware of details surrounding Logan Paul’s drink brand?

US Senator asks FDA to investigate PRIME

The issue regarding PRIME started on July 9 after Senator Charles Schumer called on the FDA to investigate the drink co-owned by Paul and popular YouTuber KSI.

The politician said that the drink posed a health hazard for minors, who also happen to be the target group of the company. “But buyer and parents beware because it’s a serious health concern for the kids it so feverishly targets,” the Democrat was quoted as saying by NBC. He pointed at the high level of caffeine in the product.

According to CNBC, the FDA is “reviewing the concerns” following Schumer’s plea. On the other hand, Logan Paul came down hard on the media over reports that PRIME was being recalled in Canada.

He said that the company doesn’t distribute the drink in Canada. Paul said that the media “just want a headline; they want clicks” and therefore they are targeting his brand.

That said, the FDA is yet to clear PRIME. According to experts, an adult can consume 400 mg of caffeine per day without exposing themselves to any threat. The drink contains half of that amount per 12 ounces or 355 milliliters. However, the quantity isn’t specified for minors.

In comparison, ZOA contains 160 mg of caffeine per 12 ounces, as per the company’s website.
