The rumors around The Rock’s potential candidacy for the White House have picked ever since “The Great One” paid a visit to the Pentagon. But Dwayne Johnson is not the first wrestler to take the path towards Politics. We take a look at 5 other wrestlers from Wrestling.

1. Kane – Glenn Jacobs, renowned as WWE’s Kane, transitioned from a celebrated wrestling career to successful politics. Beyond his formidable presence and championship achievements, Jacobs, affiliated with the Republican Party, made a foray into politics. Prominently associated with the WWF (now WWE) and Memphis wrestling, Lawler excelled as a wrestler, commentator, and occasional actor. His extensive wrestling career, marked by numerous championships and iconic feuds spanning decades, is complemented by his distinctive voice as a wrestling commentator. In 1999, he entered politics with a mayoral run in Memphis, although it proved unsuccessful. Lawler’s enduring legacy derives from his influential and diverse career in professional wrestling.

4. Rick Steiner – Rick Steiner, uncle of Bron Breakker, born Robert Rechsteiner, achieved prosperity in his wrestling career, gaining fame in WCW and WWE. Meanwhile, the former WWE Superstar is a member of the Republican Party. He is currently an elected member of the Cherokee County Board of Education in Georgia, representing District 4. He also serves as the Board’s Vice-Chair.
