WWE has been planning to induct Batista into the Hall of Fame for a long time. However, circumstances have kept ‘The Animal’ from enjoying the coveted honor. Back in 2020, Batista was elected to be in the Hall of Fame, but the Covid-19 global pandemic caused the ceremony to be deferred to 2021. However, Batista couldn’t attend the said pre-taped ceremony because of prior engagements.
Batista was hoping to be inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2023, but once again he could not make it to the WrestleMania weekend. This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony was headlined by Batista’s former Tag Team partner, Rey Mysterio.
During an interview with CoolKicks, the ex-WWE superstar revealed he was originally slated to be enshrined this year, but he was busy with a film project. On being asked if he had attended WrestleMania 39, Batista relayed, “No, I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall Of Fame, but I was on this film I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it”.
