John Cena’s connection with the Make-A-Wish Foundation started in the early 2000s when he granted his first wish. From that moment, Cena became a stalwart supporter of the foundation. His genuine passion for the cause was evident as he continued to meet children and fulfill their dreams with unwavering enthusiasm, even after breaking the record.
Above mentioned interaction was Cena’s 652nd appearance for the foundation which has been WWE’s partner for over 40 years. Cena tops the list by a huge mile as no other wrestler has been involved in even 400 wishes. In fact, Cena is also the most demanded pro wrestler, no surprise given his Hustle-Loyalty-Respect gimmick.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1980. The foundation is focused on granting the wishes of children with terminal illnesses. They rely heavily on donations and volunteers to fulfill these wishes.
WWE’s connection with Make-A-Wish
WWE, formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), has a long history of partnering with charitable organizations. The relationship between WWE and Make-A-Wish began in the late 1980s when WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan became one of the first wrestlers to grant a wish. This marked the start of a mutually beneficial partnership between WWE and the foundation.
