Pro wrestling superstar CM Punk and his WWE return rumors are standing before the WWE like a resurrecting vampire. While fans are already crazy about even the remotest possibility of his return, WWE legend Bully Ray has also joined in on this frenzied parade.

Bully Ray, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, now serves as an enforcer for Ring of Honor, works with Impact Wrestling, and co-hosts Busted Open on Sirius/XM. Ray already holds considerable sway in the pro wrestling community. However, he recently sparked a major frenzy amongst fans by envisioning the perfect return scenario for CM Punk.

Speaking on Busted Open, Ray said, “Now that we know Randy is the fifth guy, do you think that stops people from chanting CM Punk? They could have the best of both worlds right now if Punk is involved. I’ll create a scenario for you if you want to talk about grabbing people’s attention.” While this turn of events is already shocking enough, he added more flavor to it.

He continued, “You do the War Games, babyfaces go over, babyfaces are hands raised and out of nowhere, [Orton hits the] RKO on Cody and ‘Holy s**t, what just happened?” And everyone is in complete shock –- and then hit ‘Cult of Personality.’ Punk comes out on the stage. Go off the air…” The blueprint laid down by Dreamer sounds like the perfect return strategy for the Hometown Hero CM Punk.

Meanwhile, will The Second City Saint make a comeback at Survivor Series? Let’s explore the possibilities.

CM Punk comeback unlikely, fans still can be hopeful

Yes, a CM Punk return at Survivor Series looks unlikely at the moment. As per reports, WWE’s stance hasn’t changed for the Best in the World and the company isn’t too keen on bringing him back.

A key factor that lends credibility to this take is WWE’s record breaking ticket sales, which they managed for the Chicago PLE. That they have done it without the service of Roman Reigns- who isn’t available for the event- is a testament to the promotion’s dominance. So, with numbers on their side, the Stamford-based promotion doesn’t really need Punk to boost their sales.

Having said that, fans can still hope. After all, it’s the WWE and they are good at surprising their Universe. Remember Edge’s return in 2020, or Dwayne Johnson’s deafening comeback in September of this year? When it comes to keeping things under wraps, the WWE has consistently done its job, resulting in unexpected moments for the fans.

So, with CM Punk’s name still doing the rounds and the event yet to begin, there is still a possibility that Cult of Personality reverberates around the Allstate Arena on November 25, just like Bully Ray predicted.
