WWE stars being ferocious in their in-ring antics isn’t a new thing for fans. Despite being a scripted sport, WWE represents the survival of the fittest theory to the fullest. That said, some wrestlers still have to come to grips with critiques for crossing the bar sometimes.

The latest one to add to the list is Nia Jax. With her shocking WWE return at last night’s Raw, the old repugnant theory about her being unnecessarily hazardous to opponents resurfaced. Amid the carping, the 39-year-old revealed her fondness for a gruesome TV show. It might be enough for people to understand where her knack for hurt stems from.

Seasoned fans know WWE superstars are heavily skilled in performing dodgy moves for entertainment’s sake. They know how and when to roll with the punches. But then, as a combat sport, the risk of getting someone injured is never zero. Nia Jax made this blunder back in 2020, dealing a massive head wound to Kairi Sane.

There are many such instances of her dangerously injuring her fellow performers. It subsequently brought her the tag of an unsafe wrestler to deal with. However, this isn’t too far-fetched when it comes to the wrestler’s tastes. Recently, Jax professed her love for a particularly extreme TV show. Naked and Afraid has a reputation for going too far sometimes, not unlike Jax. The show revolves around leaving contestants out in the extreme wilderness without any clothes, food or water. The entertainment of the show comes from watching the contestants struggle to survive.

The former Women’s Raw Champion recently admitted on social media that she is an ardent fan of the aforementioned show.

WWE prides itself on scripted programming, it’s not really free from injury. It seems that Jax just goes into survival mode when she takes on her opponents. It clearly spoke of the rare invincible spirit of Nia Jax even if it means earning the ‘unsafe’ tag sometimes.

However, the criticism hurts the wrestler sometimes as she doesn’t intend to harm someone at all.

Nia Jax’s self-effacing justification of her ‘unsafe’ status has grounds

Much before Asuka came to her defense for being tagged as an unsafe wrestler, Jax articulated her thoughts on the same.

Jax justified her acts in the ring, despite it leading to several injuries. The Irresistible Force blamed her large size for the offense. She pointed out how her extra body muscle and plus-sized appearance made her get the better of her opponents without her even realizing it. Despite being conscious every time, accidents still happen once in a while.
