“Almost Killed Him”: Fans Terrified After 60+ Year Old Legend Goes Through Table in Brutal Spot at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

There is no denying the fact that the Icon, Sting, is cut from a different cloth. At an age when most wrestlers consider hanging up their boots, Sting still takes bumps and entertains the fans. But a recent botched spot at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door showed signs that it’s best if Sting caps off his career. 

At the age of 64, Sting is more susceptible to occupational hazards that are tied to wrestling. Not only has Sting’s reflexes declined, but he is also not in the best wrestling shape as he was in his prime. Fans saw a perfect example of that statement at Forbidden Door. 

Sting botches a brutal table spot at Forbidden Door

Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki teamed up against Sting, Darby Allin, and Tetsuya Naito in trios action at Forbidden Door in Scotiabank Arena, Ontario, Canada. The match was scheduled after The Ocho, Chris Jericho, had his first-ever encounter with The Icon, Sting, during an edition of AEW Dynamite. 

After a see-saw battle that lasted around 15 minutes, Sting, Allin, and Naito emerged victorious. However, at one point, during the match, Sting seemingly botched a spot that saw him take a nasty hit to his ribs and hips.

Jericho set up the table at ringside and laid out Sting on it. He then spurred Guevara on to hit Sting with a 630 Splash. While Guevara flew mid-air, Sting attempted to roll out of the way, but it was too late. Fans are almost convinced that The Stinger could have been hospitalized after the botched spot. But, fortunately, Sting did not suffer major injuries from the botched spot.

During the post-show media scrum, Sting revealed that the time for him to hang up his boots is close. However, he will team up with Darby Allin and take on Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a tornado tag team match at AEW Dynamite. Interestingly, WWE legend Bully Ray had an interesting theory about Sting’s one-on-one match with Chris Jericho. Meanwhile, with Sting continuing to add more fuel to his passion, fans are solicitous about his well-being.

Sting no-selling the spot two minutes later was a classic example of his gimmick, except this time, he did not get right back up seconds after the impact and roar and flex like he always did in his prime.
