After Triple H, Cody Rhodes’ Subtle Dig Towards AEW Puts “WrestleMania” Over the Event That Built His Personal Legacy

Cody Rhodes delivered an emotional ride to all his fans with his documentary, which was recently released. Rhodes forged a documentary that covered important chapters of his life especially after he left WWE in 2016. Now the superstar has expanded his story by talking about WWE and taking a subtle dig at Tony Khan’s AEW. 

In a detailed sit-down interview, Rhodes spoke about the vindication he felt after main-eventing WrestleMania and how it precedes AEW. 

Cody Rhodes chooses WWE over AEW

Ever since his comeback to WWE in 2022, Rhodes has been unstoppable in WWE. With his documentary shedding light on the backstory of Rhodes, he spoke about WWE by subtly placing Triple H over Tony Khan, ahead of his showdown with Brock Lesnar.

According to the reports by Forbes, Rhodes highlighted main-eventing WrestleMania as his personal favorite moment ahead of creating All In, which led to the creation of AEW. 

He quoted: “No. 1 is always going to be WrestleMania,” He further said: “That’s always going to be the main goal, and being able to headline WrestleMania is like getting elected president.

This is the second time somebody has taken a jibe at Tony Khan after Triple H called AEW a secondary promotion. In the documentary, Becoming Cody Rhodes, Triple H talks about Cody leaving AEW because he didn’t want to be the face of a secondary promotion, but rather the WWE champion. 

Speaking about Rhodes, while some might consider the creation of AEW as his greatest moment, Rhodes always felt more vindicated by his WrestleMania main event. 

WrestleMania is a vindication for Rhodes

Ever since childhood, he envisioned headlining the grandest stage of them all. He felt the dream-crushing when he bottomed out with Stardust. Self admittedly, Rhodes said it was the lowest moment in his career.

However, the resurgence shook the world as he eventually main-evented the show at Mania 39, with WrestleMania 40 in sight. 

While he failed this year, he hopes to achieve what his father wasn’t able to get during his illustrious WWE run and win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.
