After Sixteen Year Wait, John Cena’s Mom Inadvertently Ruined Ex-Fiance Nikki Bella’s Special Moment

WWE offers fans frequent chances to witness many spectacular real-life moments of superstars. One such unforgettable incident was when 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena went down on his knees to propose to his then-girlfriend Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 37.

Although the most celebrated wrestling couple had to put an end to their fairytale romance in 2018, their courtship period remains worth reminiscing to fans. Cena and Bella already started dating long before 2017, WrestleMania 33, when Cena wanted to voice his feelings publicly through a grand surprise gesture. Fans doubted if the surprise was a part of the script or not, given that there are few things in WWE that go off-script. Well, Cena’s surprise for Bella was not there in the script, but it wasn’t a shocker for Bella, either.

To be more specific, Nikki Bella had a hunch that something was going to happen even if she didn’t get the exact plan beforehand. Surprisingly, she was able to guess it because of Cena’s mother.

During a one-to-one interview with Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, one half of Bella’s sisters noted, ”There was a lot of speculation. But his mom was sitting in the front row — the first time she’s ever been to a live wrestling event in 16 years. So I was like, ‘Maybe this is for me …”

However, this is all past now. Following their separation, Cena and Bella found their Mr. and Mrs perfect respectively in Shay Shariatzadeh and Artem Chigvintsev. But it seems like they still relive their old good days while completely accepting the fact that they are no longer together for both of their sake.

Cena and Bella remain on good terms after breakup

Cena gave several interviews expressing his love for his ex-girlfriend, Nikki Bella, and admitted his part in the mistakes behind their breakup. On the other hand, Bella also had her say regarding their failed relationship. While she took more time to get out of the breakup trauma, the beautiful bomber finally made peace with the truth.

She eventually gained enough strength to talk about her very sensitive inner struggle during those tough days. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the ex-fiance of the Cenation leader admitted, ”I love this person, but I don’t know if it’s right for my life, no one thought I would, but it was hitting me so hard, (their breakup). Even though it’s painful and even traumatizing, I just knew it was right.”

The couple reportedly had some issues with baby planning. Cena’s unwillingness to have a child and Bella’s desperation to taste motherhood didn’t let them be together for long. They maturely handled it and chose to walk away from the relationship without throwing dirt at each other.

However, the former lovebirds are currently happy with their own family, leaving all their past behind, something that matters the most to them and to their fans as well.
