Even after becoming one of the top successful stars in the film and pro wrestling industry, his hunger for doing more and learning new stuff never ceased. That’s one of the reasons that drove him to start learning the piano a couple of years ago. And now, he plays the piano like a pro.

How long it took Cena to master playing the piano?

‘The Champ’ began taking piano lessons at 40. He practiced religiously to learn the skill. And after almost one and a half years, he mastered it. In 2017, he told Parade Magazine that every day he would dedicate 15 minutes of his busy schedule to learn piano.

He said, “I tell myself, ‘You can surf the web for 15 minutes, or put the time toward a skill.’ What am I gonna learn in 15 minutes? Your first 15 minutes, maybe where the middle C note is. But after about 125 hours, you learn how to play the piano.” 

The 46-year-old star doesn’t believe in wasting time by scrolling feeds on Instagram or Facebook. Instead, he likes to utilize every second of his day to generate an outcome that enhances his capabilities. He started learning piano almost six years ago, but do you know how his journey began? ‘The Prototype’ wrestled in front of thousands of people in WWE events effortlessly. But the thought of playing piano in front of a room full of people would make him very anxious earlier. In an interview with MTV, he revealed he suffered from performance anxiety.

Cena would sweat and shake every time while playing a musical instrument in front of people. He wanted to get rid of his performance anxiety, thus he took up piano lessons. He is a top figure in the industry and he is always swamped with work. Therefore, he used his spare time between his movie takes to learn the piano.
