After Labelling Cody Rhodes a Newcomer, NXT Star Targets Rey Mysterio in His Latest Trash Talk – “Can’t Wait”

Rey Mysterio stunned the world last week when he beat Austin Theory. The legendary superstar captured his 3rd United States Championship, much to the delight of the WWE Universe. However, despite pleasing fans, it seems like he hasn’t won over everyone yet. Especially not the most controversial superstar in WWE, Grayson Waller.

Now, in a viral tweet, Waller took a cheap dig at Rey Mysterio, trying to ruin his credibility just days before their meeting on SmackDown.

Grayson Waller disrespects Rey Mysterio

It was a wonderful sight to see the fan-favorite Mysterio capture the US Championship against a brash Theory. 

Still going strong at 48, Mysterio put on a clinic in the ring, proving why age is just a number and his legacy is unmatched. Despite the luchador getting announced as the class headliner for the coveted Hall of Fame class of 2023, the WWE legend doesn’t plan on slowing down.

But while fans and Mysterio celebrate this amazing phase, it looks like Waller isn’t joining the party anytime soon. Like his usual trend, the superstar has taken a jibe at the new US Champ.

On his Twitter, he mocked the legend, by saying how Rey must “feel good by stealing Santos’s opportunity” and “taking care of the next generation.”

Waller has exhibited this behavior towards superstars before, and although it is unacceptable, it is not surprising. After countless taunts and digs at superstars from Dwayne Johnson to Edge, the superstar taunted Cody Rhodes recently. 

He referred to him as a newcomer and expressed his willingness to give advice to a beginner. As usual, fans lambasted him for his antics and they put him in his place. With his latest target on Mysterio, it’ll be interesting to see how their face-off happens on SmackDown.

Stakes high for the upcoming interview on SmackDown

WWE announced that the master of 6-1-9 would be a guest on ‘The Grayson Waller Effect’ in the upcoming edition of SmackDown in Toronto.

While fans are not expecting him to be respectful to the future Hall of Famer, fans would be curious to see if Waller causes a stir between Mysterio and his mentee, Santos Escobar, causing friction between the two. 

It will also be interesting to see Theory’s response after losing the title last week. With so much at stake, the WWE universe can’t wait for the upcoming segment on SmackDown.
