In a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat Podcast, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative shared insights into Punk’s surprise appearance at Survivor Series. The interviewer asked Michaels about his reaction to hearing Punk’s theme song the other night on Survivor Series.

Shawn Michaels acknowledges Punk’s unique factor but stresses the importance of proving oneself as a team player. The Showstopper, drawing from his own experiences, understands the challenges in Punk’s career and imparted valuable wisdom gained over the years. He said, “Like everybody else; happy, thrilled, Holy Cow. I got asked a couple of months ago, ‘If you had a chance to use him, would you?’ Yeah, who wouldn’t? I understand business.” HBK recalled that he wasn’t always the most popular guy with people, but he was good at his job.

He also added, “I feel like that’s one of the reasons I’ve had one here in the WWE for almost 40 years.” Emphasizing reliability, Michaels noted that as long as individuals can perform their roles without incident, WWE offers a place for them.
