The year 2023 is about to come to an end and what a year this has been for WWE and their pro-wrestling business. From successful WrestleMania Nights to the acquisition of CM Punk, there has been much good news for the fans.
WWE even made a massive move in the combat sports industry with their merger with Endeavor. After the amalgamation that turned into a $21 billion venture called TKO Holdings, the WWE roster has more reasons to be satisfied with the year 2023, financially to be specific.

Wrestling Observer News reported on December 29th an update on the contract of WWE superstar Cody Rhodes. WON reported, “While it didn’t go reported at the time, Rhodes agreed to terms for a new multi-year deal back in October.” The American Nightmare has been one of the top superstars in the company despite his loss at WrestleMania 39. Hence, a multi-year-contract extension was expected, given the popularity of Rhodes.

WON further reported, “As we noted, a lot of the talent which still had existing time left on their deals had been offered very long-term new deals at substantial increases in pay in recent months.” Just like Rhodes, many other WWE superstars have been offered extended contracts. Some of the top names include Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, and Drew McIntyre.
These two statements lead us to draw two major inferences on why the WWE roster is satisfied with the year 2023.
Year 2023 brings joyous news for WWE roster
1. Lengthy contracts: As can be noticed in the case of Cody Rhodes, many WWE superstars have been offered lengthy contracts, thus ensuring a secured future with WWE. Other superstars with similar long-term contracts with Charlotte Flair (currently out due to injury), Bayley, Dominik Mysterio, and Rey Mysterio.

2. Massive pay increase: The pay cut has allowed WWE to have a larger pool of funds to disburse for its performers. The top 5 superstars (pay-wise) in the WWE roster are Brock Lesnar – £4.03 million, Roman Reigns – £4.02 million, Randy Orton – £3.2 million, Seth Rollins – £2.82 million, and Becky Lynch – £2.5 million.
Another parameter to judge it is using base salary. In the words of Triple H, WWE provides a base salary of $250,000 annually to its superstars on the main roster (RAW or SmackDown).
