WWE’s cutthroat environment is not made for everyone. Many superstars have thrived in the promotion and made a name for themselves. Meanwhile, others couldn’t settle inside the promotion. The reason for this could be anything ranging from unhappiness with creative decisions to less money.
Those who feel dissatisfied with their time in the sports entertainment giant often end up leaving it. Similarly, a WWE NXT superstar wished to cut ties with WWE. But the Stamford-based promotion denied his request.

WWE star Jagger Reid looks forward to becoming a free agent
Just a while ago, the Schism member, Jagger Reid, went to his official Twitter handle to break out the news that WWE has denied his release request. Reid, along with his tag team partner, Rip Fowler, requested release from the promotion earlier this month. This happened just a day after UFC’s parent company, Endeavour, bought WWE.

In his tweet, the NXT superstar also mentioned that his contract with the Stamford-based promotion official ends on October 14, 2023, and he is excited to venture into a new pro wrestling journey as a “free agent” in the market. In addition, he also thanked his fans for showering him with support and love and said he would never forget it.
As of today, WWE has denied my request for my release.
I want to thank you all for your support throughout my career, I'll never take that for granted.
My contract with WWE expires on 14th October 2023.
I'm excited to share our next chapter, once we are free agents.

A couple of minutes later, following his stablemate’s footsteps, Rip Fowler also addressed the situation on Twitter. He stated that the Grizzled Young Veterans requested their release on April 3rd. He reiterated his partner’s words and said that on 15 October, both the stars will become free agents again and thanked the fans for their support.
Today WWE have denied our release, which was requested on April 3rd.
On 15th Oct '23 we will be free agents again.
I personally want to thank all of our fans for your continued support, it means a lot to both of us especially during times like these! We'll see you on the 16th!

On the July 19 edition of WWE NXT last year, the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions aligned themselves with Joe Gacy to form the Schism faction. They have been involved in that storyline ever since. But with them asking for their release, their future in NXT looms darker.
The two stars are obliged to provide their services until mid-October of this year. It is unknown how they will proceed to work in the company. It would be interesting to find out how Vince McMahon and Triple H would book these two superstars from now on. They may not have liked the two stars going public about this matter.
