AEW’s Dustin Rhodes Slams a Fan With a 3-Word Message for Throwing Dirt on WWE Amid Professional Rivalry

It’s just been a few days since Dustin Rhodes broke his silence on his future in AEW amid rumors of him joining his brother, Cody Rhodes in WWE. But even after he expressed his love for Tony Khan’s promotion, the star didn’t think twice before slamming back a fan for mocking the Stamford-based promotion. The fan touched a nerve of the Goldust that triggered him to respond back. 

Rhodes’ pro wrestling career mostly circled around WWE, although he has been a part of other promotions as well. However, his ring moniker “Goldust” helped him attain popularity to a large degree. Not only did WWE play an important role in his career, but in his father’s career as well. Although he created a legacy in Jim Crockett Promotions and National Wrestling Alliance territories already, in Vince McMahon’s WWE, Dustin Rhodes initially appeared dressed as a yellow polka-dotted “Common Man” which some thought was intended to humiliate him. One such fan recently took the freedom of social media to express his opinion, which soon attracted Goldust’s attention. 

A fan’s awful remark triggered Dustin Rhodes

WWE contributed to Dusty Rhodes’ pro wrestling career and helped him gain more popularity and even released a documentary based on his career recently. He is still alive in fans’ hearts with his moniker of the “common man”. Despite this, there are people who are not content with the promotion’s handling of Dusty Rhodes.

One such fan recently tweeted, “I’ll never quite appreciate what the WWF did to Dusty Rhodes. They made him a clown character. A big slap in the face to his Crockett/ NWA legacy.” 

Nevertheless, it was promptly taken down as the remarks triggered the WWE veteran’s son. He decided to respond to him back with three succinct words.

Dustin Rhodes then tweeted back saying, “Do better dude.”

With three simple words, the AEW star clarified not only clapped back at a person who tried throwing dirt at WWE but also pointed him to elevate his standards. Despite being engaged in a professional rivalry, the stand Dustin Rhodes took here is quite appreciable. 

However, the elder son isn’t the only one who feels emotional about his dad. Cody Rhodes has also been vocal about the hardships of his father.

The American Nightmare is seen getting emotional when he recalls the hardships his father went through. After attaining much popularity in his career, Dustin Rhodes used to still receive some awful remarks from people that not only affected him but his younger son as well. 

In one interview, Cody Rhodes mentioned these negative comments like ‘flat slob’ that were thrown at his father. However, he absorbs all of it and feels it to work as fuel for him in his wrestling career. 

Although the WWE legend isn’t with us anymore, his children have been popular personalities in wrestling. And they still cannot see anyone disrespecting their father or the promotion that gave him a lot of fame.
