Over the years, Paul Heyman has changed the stature of a wrestling manager in the business. From being a manager to an Advocate of Brock Lesnar to The Wiseman and The Special Counsel of Roman Reigns, he has surpassed several previous wrestling managers.
Shockingly, while praising ‘The Tribal Chief’ recently, the 57-year-old took a shot at a legendary wrestling figure who was a manager too. Fans weren’t too happy about Heyman’s comments and reprimanded him on social media.

Recently appearing on Stephen Smith’s First Take, Heyman gave his thoughts on WWE legend Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. The former owner of ECW called himself the GOAT and gave a curt reply to the NBA analyst when he brought up Heenan’s name for comparison. Heyman’s reply was, “Screw him, he’s dead!”.

Wrestling fans consider Heenan to be one of the best managers in the business. He was known for his skill in elevating villainous on-screen talent by drawing negative reactions to himself and his wrestlers. In other words, he was one of the best heel managers. It’s no wonder why fans didn’t like Heyman berating the deceased legend in this manner even in kayfabe.
Heenan was one of the most memorable figures in wrestling history. Three notable companies he performed were the AWA, WWF/E and WCW under the name Bobby ‘The Brian’ Heenan. The 2004 WWE Hall of Famer passed away in September 2017 at the age of 72 years old.
Fans slam Paul Heyman for the disrespectful comments about Brian Heenan!
Wrestling fans are some of the most loyal supporters, and they love all the stars and legends. Even though, as a heel manager, Heenan would’ve loved Heyman’s comments, fans didn’t like The Wiseman’s way of talking about the legend.
Among several fans tweeting their reactions, a few of them shared their disappointment. Below are some of the reactions by fans who didn’t like Heyman’s comments.
Heena was better than Paul Heyman ever was

If this was anybody else they'd be getting clowned.
There was nothing affective about him mentioning Heenan in such a way. This helps no one and accomplishes nothing. Ultimately this is just cheap heat and I question why Heyman even chose to say this in the first place.

The Wiseman’s comments disappoint more Twitter users who are WWE fans!
I know he’s in character but at the same time it’s a bit fucked up

That's a little much

The love for Heenan was evident. Fans didn’t hesitate to take shots at The Bloodline manager.
This makes me sick how do u say something like this about a dead person #PaulHeyman #FirstTake #ESPN #StephenASmith #RomanReigns #JeyUso #WWE #SummerSlam pic.twitter.com/FSojTnaLCZ

He will never be as good as Bobby Heenan was but THIS Paul Heyman ain't even a manager so this isn't worth getting pissed off about https://t.co/c9nI2YI2yl

Was going to make a joke about @HeymanHustle speaking from his ass, but then I spent the time watching this clip to figure out how he was talking without moving his lips. Then, I realized it was his double chin. The man eats well for doing so little for Roman and previously Brock https://t.co/Irelc8jvGc

However, there were comments that highlighted the fact that this is all part of showbiz.
If Bobby was alive, he'd roast Heyman. Heyman would fire back, and they'd probably go for a drink together laughing at how much money they'd made on a 30 second skit.
