John Cena is a man of few words. Yes, at least on Instagram. While he’s among the best on the mic and widely regarded for his promo cutting skills, Cena has a different ritual on Instagram. He posts pictures without captions. This, according to the 46-year-old, allows people to have their own interpretation of the image. He recently posted a captionless photo that created quite a buzz.
The photo featured a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. The pair was not just any Jordans but the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Jordan pair. The popular interpretation is that this might be John Cena’s silent tribute to the billionaire NBA GOAT, who donated millions to the Make A Wish Foundation, an organization that Cena has generously contributed time and money to.

According to reports, Jordan’s check carried an amount of $10 million. Cena, meanwhile, holds the record for the greatest number of wishes granted by an individual through the organization. So far, he has granted 650 wishes and is a certified record holder. He also granted Make-A-Wish’s 1000th wish in 2012. But Jordan’s eight-figure donation is likely to have surged ahead in comparison.
But despite becoming a wish-granting machine, Cena had to be convinced for a particular thing pertaining to this humanitarian work.
Paul Heyman reveals John Cena’s hesitation to go public about his humanitarian work
John Cena was always generous and very supportive of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. But he wanted no publicity for his work. WWE legend Paul Heyman recently weighed in on this during an episode of Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton podcast.
He revealed that Vince McMahon had to sit and make Cena understand for hours before he finally agreed to go publicize his humanitarian work.“…Cena never wanted to exploit it. He never wanted publicity for it. He never wanted recognition for it. He wanted to just do it. That’s a hero,” the 57-year-old said.
