Angel Reese has attracted a lot of hate from fans recently. It all began in April when she pulled out John Cena‘s iconic WWE move—”You Can’t See Me”—during the LSU Tigers vs. Iowa Hawkeyes at the NCCA Women’s Basketball tournament finals. But this time, WWE fans believe that she might have taken it a bit too far.
While the incident in April was an on-court healthy trash-talking segment to taunt Caitlin Clark after LSU’s win over Iowa, many were displeased with her, as they believed it was a sign of disrespect to ‘The Champ’ and Clark. Once again, she received some backlash for repeating the trick at ESPYs after winning an award.

This year’s ESPY Awards was held at Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles on July 12. During the event, Angel Reese was awarded the Best Breakthrough Athlete award, recognizing her outstanding achievements in the field of sports. She beat out Caitlin Clark of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers to win the honor.
Reese concluded her acceptance speech by replicating John Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” gesture, which she used to tease Clark in LSU’s April win against Iowa. Adding fuel to it is a tweet posted by Clutch Points that termed it as her “infamous hand gesture,” giving credit to Reese instead of Cena. Her move didn’t carry the same weight for many fans, who associate it with WWE legend John Cena.
This resulted in fans getting angry on social media just like they did back in April.
“Attitude adjust her right now”: John Cena gets special requests from fans
Wrestling aficionados went on to Twitter to express their displeasure at Reese for copying Cena’s iconic gesture. They want her to apologize to the 16-time World Champion.
In fact, Cena’s WWE move has now been termed Angel Reese’s infamous hand gesture and it hasn’t sat well with the wrestling fans and those who associate the move with the 16x WWE World Champion. Cena has a couple of requests from fans; some hilariously called for Cena to deliver an Attitude Adjustment to her.
