In a meeting that took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida.

And the video of the appearance is definitely grabbing a lot of attention and is, in fact, going viral right now. But why baseball all of a sudden? Is he actually thinking of changing sports? And what else happened there? Fret not; here are all the details.

In the viral video uploaded by the Savannah Bananas on X, the professional wrestler came out of the dugout in a baseball uniform with his signature WWE entrance song, “The Time is Now.” He even did his entire routine as if he were entering the ring, while his new teammates did the “You can’t see me” gesture. Subsequently, Cena stepped into the batter’s box and adopted a batting stance similar to Craig Counsell’s on the first pitch, which he took for a ball. The 16-time WWE Champion then squatted down, hoping to get a walk, but was declared out for strikes.

But it seemed like Cena wasn’t happy with being declared out, as it looked like he was going to charge at the pitcher. But instead, he went to him and raised the pitcher’s hand, indicating that he got the win like the referees do in pro wrestling. And for all those wondering, no, Cena isn’t changing his sport.

The embodiment of hustle, loyalty, and respect had “Stanicky” written on the back of his T-shirt, a nod to his upcoming film Ricky Stanicky, which will also star Zac Efron. The comedy/drama features a wacky plot about three childhood friends who created an imaginary character named Ricky Stanicky as a handy alibi for immature behavior. However, when confronted by their wives to meet Stanicky, they hire washed-up actor Rod, who takes his role of a lifetime a little too far, thus leading to chaos. The film will hit the theaters on March 7th.

As for the team with which Cena made his debut, the Savannah Bananas are essentially the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball, adding theater, dance, and comedy to America’s pastime. Their performances have featured several guest stars, including former MLB players such as Jonny Gomes, Johnny Damon, and Josh Reddick.
