In the latest buzz, when the fans discuss the current rivalry between WWE and AEW, they consider it reminiscent of another historic rivalry between two big promotions. While one was obviously WWE, the other was its arch-rival, TNA. Indeed, WWE’s then-rival promotion had a lot to showcase to its fan base. From the intriguing storylines to all the established wrestling bigwigs, TNA had it all to entertain the fans.

But later on, the promotion changed its name to Impact Wrestling and was further sidelined after AEW came onto the scene. However, recently, the fans got to know that Impact would yet again transition its name to its former renowned name, TNA. And following this shocker, the president of Impact Wrestling laid bare his statements concerning the reason behind it. So let’s dive deep into this.

The reason why Impact was changed to TNA?

The fact is not hidden: the fans wanted to bring back the former name. As revealed by Impact Wrestling’s president, Scott D’Amore, in a press release, he listened to what the fans were asking for, and as a result, he brought back the same iconic name.

He said, “We still hear the ‘TNA’ chants wherever we go,” said Impact Wrestling President Scott D’Amore. “Fans have longed for TNA Wrestling, so that’s what we’re bringing back in 2024: TNA Wrestling, we’re back!” 

The desire of wrestling fans to bring back the iconic name rejuvenated the Impact President to initiate this move. This undoubtedly actedas the driving force for D’Amore to take this action. Now we have to see if this name once again proves to be a cause for alarm for Triple H and even Tony Khan. But when did the fans come to know about this?

Impact’s annual PLE Bound for Glory indeed proved to be a joy ride for the fans. However, one colossal piece of news was still going to pop out that left the fans awestruck. After the PLE concluded on Saturday, the promotion aired a video that revealed that the promotion is changing again to TNA wrestling.

Now the fans are waiting for this change with bated breath. Just to let you know, it will be the first time since 2017 that a promotion will be called TNA. In fact, this change will come into effect after Impact’s pay-per-view, Hard to Kill, which will take place in January 2024.
