The new year is here and this is a special time for all the gaming enthusiasts in the ranks of the WWE Universe. 2k Sports releases the annual installments of every major sporting league in the world, with WWE being one of the first sports getting a release. However, fans are especially impatient this season and wish to get their hands on WWE 2k24 as soon as possible.

2k Sports has been creating a lot of hype for their popular gaming title for quite some time via several social media posts. Interestingly, these social media posts also carry a special clue that gives away when the release date of the game will be announced. In fact, the information has been hiding in plain sight along with several other easter eggs in the game.

When can the WWE Universe expect the game to be out?

The official X account of WWE 2k24 has released several posts that point to a particular date. Interestingly, this surprise date is very close and falls on 22nd January 2024. A post with the mention of this date was also made in the last 24 hours. This can very well mean that this is when the game’s release date will be announced.

The social media marketing team of WWE 2k24 also released a post which showcased a referee’s uniform. Interestingly, Stone Cold Steve Austin was tagged in this post. This shows that the game carries some content where 3:16 will appear as a special guest referee. 

While Austin has his special position fixed in the game, WWE Superstars also debated about who will be on the game’s cover. Another post on X carried a video where superstars pitch the names of possible wrestlers.

While wrestlers like Austin Theory and Bianca Belair nominated themselves, others had different answers.

Which WWE Superstar will make it to the cover of the WWE 2k24?

Giving his opinion on the matter, the video initially covered Xavier Woods screaming ‘New Day’. However, later in the video, he said, “Seth Rollins up front. Becky is on the side. Charlotte there. Gunther. I think he might have Imperium right next to him.” He ended his list with a surprising name and chose ‘him’ over the likes of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes and said, “And that last spot, Carmelo Hayes.”

The Miz didn’t know who would make it to the game’s cover. However, he did say that 2k will never put him on the cover because he doesn’t get respected enough for his work. Lastly, he said that 2k will likely go with LA Knight, Cody Rhodes or Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Zoey Stark also named Cody Rhodes as her choice stating that he has been killing it lately. 

Although nothing has been official so far, 2k did make a tweet featuring an image of Rhea Ripley with the date 22nd January in the caption. This could also mean that Mami could be the one who will be on the game’s cover which would be equally well deserved.
