Rey Mysterio’s third reign as the United States Champion was ended by internet-celebrity-turned-pro-wrestler Logan Paul. The 28-year-old star had challenged Rey Mysterio for his title after making a fruitful boxing return. When asked what’s next for him after securing the win against Dillon Danis in boxing, he said he wanted to go after the Lucha Libre to capture his title.

Paul, who was seen celebrating his victory over Rey Mysterio, gave his verdict on pro wrestling. And Triple H was all ears.

After his win at Crown Jewel, Paul was seen backstage, clicking pictures with his title. Logan Paul, who was drenched in sweat and still gasping for air, saw the Chief Content Officer of WWE, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, coming his way. As soon as he saw him, the words that came out of The Maverick’s mouth were, “It is a tough a*s sport, boss”. After hearing those words, Triple H couldn’t help but chuckle while shaking hands with the new United States Champion.

Paul gave an extremely tough competition to the former United States Champion. He even foiled three pinning attempts by Mysterio, who was desperate to secure a win against him. As the match reached its peak, the two SmackDown stars were completely tired and almost out of breath. Just when all hope seemed lost, one of Paul’s loyal crewmates smuggled brass knuckles to him. Paul used to it knock Mysterio out and pinned him for the count. Paul came out as the victor, with the championship title belt over his shoulders.

Gunther, who is the current champion, has been holding the title for more than 500 days now.
